| TIME TO KEEP THE BALANS - dinsdag 4 oktober 2011 |
After a few weeks of doing my work and participate the design contests on speedanddesign.net I felt that it can take a lot of time and energy, especialy when I want to combine it with my family. It's a sport to keep the balans between the contests, designing and my wife and children. It is a feeling of wanting to be a dad where they can fall back on when ever it is needed and don't want to mis a thing of seeing my girls grow. So when I plan my time to draw, design and render, mostly of the time I will begin around 22:00 in the evening, the side effect of that is it's going to be later then I want it to be because I want to finish the part that I'm working on. I can here myself think "why don't I begin directly after we have brought our kids to bed". Well most of the time I need to relaxe to let the daily things go before I begin in my creative process. Don't know if it's normal but it seems to work best for me. The last week of the "TRON LECAGY" Contest has been a one of long days and short nights. I must say it went very well and I did not feel tired when I was working on the design, but after that week I felt the short nights in my system. The effort I put into the Donkervoort wasn't for nothing. After winning the "NYC Taxi" Contest I did also win the "TRON LECAGY" Contest. I must admit that I'm very content with the final result of the Donkervoort, maybe I could have tweaked it a bit more. At the moment the new contest is allready running, it's called the "Small Electric CityCar" Contest. Although I'm going to participate I'm also seeking for other contests that are of a higher level and that will push me to a higher level. Well for now it's good that I will keep the balans... and let us see what this day will bring...
